lately
lately.
harper has had a crummy virus that has morphed into every sickness imaginable. i'm hoping she is on the mend soon, as it has been a full week since it started. there are sudden bursts of energy, followed by crashes of exhaustion. poor little one. baby boy has had it too, but thankfully has not gotten as sick as harper.
we decided to keep our spot in the community garden this year. we may produce one squash all season, but we couldn't give it up. it was such a wonderful place to go last summer with harper. our evenings were spend watering and weed pulling while harper ate grapes off of the vine. it may be a challenge to get there as often with a newborn, but we will find a way and hopefully have a good gardening season.
1. even when she is sick she has a smile.
2. this guy is getting big! and loves to kick.
3. ranunculus are my new favorite flower. so gorgeous.
4. harper pulls up a chair while i feed sawyer. while i may still be in my pajamas, i love this shot.
5. harper and i made spring bows.
6. puddle jumping.
7. sawyer got photo bombed.
8. harper's portrait of her daddy with sunshine and mountains and a carrot.
9. painting on a snowy afternoon.
growing a bump
hello there! i have had the greatest intentions of taking regular bump shots this pregnancy, but alas, life happens and as it turns out, two year olds don't much like having photo sessions and my husband works a lot. BUT, today was a different day and we snapped a few photos of my big 35 week belly.
i'm feeling really great for the most part, and can't complain too much about those pesky sciatic twinges or the sleep that i am no longer getting. my body is warming me up for the day that we get to meet our sweet winter babe. and are we ever excited for that day.
i have been washing and folding tiny little white shirts and swaddling blankets. we are painting and assembling the crib soon. nesting has set in.
around here
my sweet girl. my spirited and feisty and full of energy little girl. these past few months have been a roller coaster of good and bad days with the good being great and the bad being, well, tough to handle.
thank you for coming back to this little spot despite the sparse and rather lack luster posts as of late. i promise to dust off the camera and share some crafty projects and nursery updates in the near future. until then, we will be spending our lovely fall afternoons at the park burning energy and sipping chai teas.
gathering
While Harper gathers leaves, pinecones and acorns at the park, I am slowly collecting items for baby boy. I am trying to be very mindful of what we will really need, which is not all that much, really. It is hard to turn down a pair of sweet little gray boots though.
these days
life lately.
we've been spending most time outside enjoying the (almost) summer days. tending to the garden almost every day. soon we will have delicious lettuce and blueberries! the sneaky little rabbits have decided to hang out in our patch and eat all of our strawberries. so sad. harper did grab one extremely white "baby strawbee" and eat it, stem and all one morning though.
harper started soccer once a week and does not appear to be at all interested. she would much rather run in the fields and pick dandelions. can't say i blame her.
we are headed to texas tomorrow to hang out with my folks. very excited to see them and get our dose of texas heat for the summer. christopher is on an intense rotation and will be working nights, so we planned our trip accordingly, but will miss him loads.
hope you've had a great week and have an even better weekend. xo
pastel collections
our afternoons lately have been spent collecting lilacs, pinecones and rocks and drawing on the patio. harper sits and colors making the cutest little circles all over the sidewalk. i am requested every. single. time to draw our dog livi, ben and a turtle.
we have a big weekend in store. christopher has the whole two days off and we are going to be planting some seeds in the freshly tilled garden and visiting our pals in the mountains. i can't wait!
thinking of this little one today.
