mt. fuji and building blocks

a few snapshots from our time at the children's museum when we were visiting christopher's family in oklahoma. harper mostly ran around squealing and climbing the stairs to the top of mt. fuji. i am really enjoying this age. she is growing more independent everyday and her little personality is just blossoming. last night she looked at her father and said, "hi daddy, i funny." oh boy.

spring!

i am loving this spring! the warmth, the pops of color, the longer days. i am hooked.

we are going to buy some seeds and plants this weekend. *yippee* i hadn't imagined the planting season was so much later here, but hopefully soon we will be digging in the soil. in the meantime, harper has been reading up on gardening.

have a lovely weekend!

life aquatic

my mom was in town last week and treated us to a new adventure at the aquarium. it was beautiful and i'm not sure who had the most fun.

harper and i arrived home last night from a whirlwind trip to see family in texas and oklahoma and i'm feeling a little tired. harper experienced her first airplane trip, which i was very, very nervous about as i was taking care of her on my own. she did great and is such a joy to travel with. i'm already thinking about our next vacation this spring!

to the races

bbbrooom, brrrooomm!!! whoa! whoa! whoa!! cooool. - harper talk

harper and i are heading to the airport this morning to pick up my momma for a week long stay. all of us are a little bit excited to do some exploring around denver and have some quality time together. we are going to see the aquarium (because i've been too cheap to do it on my own), eat tasty foods, visit the american girl shop and harper will most likely convince juju to read "pete the cat" at least 50 times. hooray!

have a lovely weekend!

bare legs

we had *three* whole days of bare legs. (and now we are back to snow.) we enjoyed every moment of our spring warmth while it was here. we picnicked, raced cars, played in the park every day, visited the zoo, opened the windows and walked around barefoot all day.

i am really looking forward to more of these days. it feels so good to go to bed at night and be physically tired from the exercise and activity of simply being outdoors and in the sunshine. come back soon, spring!

daydreaming

playing "happy" with papa during their visit a few weeks ago.

one of the most discussed topics at our house is where we will end up. where are we going to settle in and plant our roots? all of our moves have been based on school - where we were attending or where we got accepted. so, it is fun to dream about really choosing a place to settle down. a place in which harper and her future siblings will grow up and go to school and make friends. how close will we be to our families, our friends, to the beautiful mountains that we love so much? how do you make that decision? just a little daydreaming this monday morning.

hello march!

february photo a day challenge is complete.

can you believe it's march already? winter doesn't really end around here until about april, but i am so excited for some spring weather. my legs are itching for some fresh air!

this march i'm looking forward to daffodil blooms, hiking, a week with my mom, planting seeds, and bike rides. do you have anything fun going on this month? i'd love to hear!
