Off to School: Week Four

A smile. Although, there are red eyes from crying, there is a sweet little smile. She told me on the way in to school, "I be very brave at school, mama." Melted my heart right there and made me so proud of her for trying so hard to have courage.

"I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear."
-Nelson Mandela

  1. I haven't said this yet, but I really struggled when I first started school. I used to cry all the way to the gates, then tell my mum I could be brave. At which point i would go in and she'd cry all the way home. I promise it gets better! Xxx

  2. yea! i was so happy to see her little smile in this post! school is an adjustment. for the first few weeks they had to peel landon from my body... i could hear him screaming all the way out in the parking lot. it broke my heart. now he cannot wait, talks about his friends, likes to be the first one there. looks like she is getting better and better every week!
